So I started freelancing with All India Radio. Being a history student in St. Stephen’s College, I also worked as a tourist guide.
Apart from this, regarding work, Kabir had said, ‘I like theater and at heart I will always be a theater person. But unfortunately the theater doesn’t pay the bills.
Suffered financial crisis
Let us tell you that Kabir has also suffered the pain of his son’s death. His son Siddharth committed suicide at the age of 26. Kabir had told, ‘Despite many efforts I could not stop my son from committing suicide. My son went to Northern California University to study. He went into depression and became a victim of a disease like schizophrenia.
‘When my son was suffering from schizophrenia, I invested in the wrong place. I tried to save my son but could not. I felt guilty. At that time I faced a financial crisis. I used to go for auditions and I didn’t know what to do. Because of this I lost a lot of work. I was emotionally broken.
He had told, ‘I have gone through bad experiences like my son’s suicide, poverty in Hollywood. It is very humiliating for a celebrity to be a pauper. But you have to get up. I’ve been reinventing myself my whole life.

The actor married four times
In personal life, Kabir Bedi has married four times. His first marriage was with Protima in 1969. From this marriage he had two children, Pooja Bedi and Siddharth Bedi. Kabir’s second marriage was with fashion designer Susan Humphreys and this marriage also did not last. He married radio presenter Nikki in 1990 for the third time. This marriage also broke in 2005. At the age of 70, Kabir married Parveen Dosanjh in 2016.
